In an electrifying encounter at Sylhet, Moeen Ali showcased his all-round prowess as Sylhet Titans defeated Dhaka Capitals by 20 runs in the 18th match of the Bangladesh Premier League.

After posting a competitive 180/6 in their 20 overs, the Titans’ innings was highlighted by Moeen Ali’s explosive cameo.

Coming in at number six, the English all-rounder smashed 28 runs off just 8 balls, including three towering sixes, lifting the Titans’ run rate in the final overs and taking the total to a challenging 180.

His knock came at a strike rate of 350, turning the momentum firmly in Sylhet’s favor. Parvez Hossain Emon (32) and Ariful Islam (38) had earlier laid a solid foundation for the Titans.

With the ball, Moeen struck twice in his four overs for just 20 runs, keeping the Capitals’ chase under control. The Englishman removed Mohammad Mithun (7) and Shamim Hossain (1), both crucial wickets that stemmed the flow of runs.

Chasing 181, Dhaka Capitals struggled to build partnerships. Rahmanullah Gurbaz top-scored with 51, and Abdullah Al Mamun made a quick 24, but the required momentum was missing.

Moeen’s tight bowling, along with Ziaur Rahman and Nasir Hossain picking up key wickets, restricted the Capitals to 160/8 in 20 overs.
