Having played alongside Shakib in both international and franchise cricket, Waseem said the all-rounder has shaped his development on and off the field.
“Shakib bhai is like our big brother. I played a lot of cricket with him, and he has served Bangladesh so much. He’s a legend a true legend,” Waseem said.
“I learned so many things from him on the field and off the field. I asked him what I could do for Bangladesh cricket, and he told me certain things which I still try to use today.”
Waseem also credited his experience in the International League T20 (ILT20) for easing his transition into the BPL, highlighting the value of learning from top players.
