Bangladesh may have suffered a T20I series whitewash against Australia after their historic ODI series triumph, but several Tigers have earned significant rewards in the latest ICC rankings update.

Left-arm spinner Nasum Ahmed was the biggest gainer for Bangladesh, surging 27 places to 11th in the ICC Men's T20I Bowling Rankings following his impressive performances in the three-match series.

It marks the second-best ranking of his career, having previously reached a career-high 10th position.

Stand-in captain Towhid Hridoy also enjoyed a notable rise despite Bangladesh's disappointing T20I campaign.

The right-hander, who scored 105 runs in the series, climbed nine places to 30th in the T20I batting rankings. Opener Saif Hassan moved up 13 spots to joint 35th after his consistent contributions with the bat.

Australia's successful T20I series against Bangladesh also reflected positively in the rankings. Captain Mitchell Marsh advanced four places to ninth among T20I batters, while fast bowler Nathan Ellis moved up three spots to seventh in the bowling charts.

Meanwhile, Matt Henry etched his name into New Zealand cricket history by becoming the first Kiwi bowler in 36 years to reach the summit of the ICC Test Bowling Rankings.

The 34-year-old claimed 11 wickets in the Oval Test to help New Zealand level the series 1-1. His outstanding display lifted him to 870 rating points, placing him joint-first alongside India's Jasprit Bumrah.

Henry became the first New Zealand bowler since Sir Richard Hadlee in 1990 to occupy the No. 1 spot, with only Jack Cowie and Hadlee having achieved the feat before him.

In the Test batting rankings, Joe Root reclaimed the No. 1 position after scoring 46 and 77 in the Oval Test. The England star climbed two places to return to the top for the 12th time in his career, overtaking teammate Harry Brook and Australia's Travis Head.

Several New Zealand batters also enjoyed upward movement. Rachin Ravindra rose to 10th, Daryl Mitchell moved to 16th, Glenn Phillips climbed to 31st, and Henry Nicholls advanced to 40th in the Test batting rankings.

In the ODI rankings, India's Shubman Gill jumped three places to second and now trails top-ranked Daryl Mitchell by just 24 rating points.

Fellow Indian Ishan Kishan climbed 21 spots to joint 43rd, while Afghanistan captain Hashmatullah Shahidi moved up four places to 52nd.
