England will warm up for the 2027 Ashes with a one-off Test against Bangladesh in late May, according to reports.

The venue has yet to be finalised and will depend on where the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) stages the 2027 World Test Championship (WTC) final.

The ECB is considering moving the WTC final from Lord's to The Oval due to concerns over the Lord's pitch. If The Oval hosts the final, Lord's is expected to stage the Bangladesh Test instead.

Bangladesh are already scheduled to host England for a two-Test series in February 2027, meaning England could play nine consecutive Tests against either Bangladesh or Australia, including the 150th anniversary Test against Australia and the Ashes series later that year.

The prospect of the Bangladesh Test being held at Lord's has also sparked debate, as it would leave northern England without a men's Test match next summer.

The ECB is expected to announce the full 2027 home schedule next month.
