Zimbabwe have named a 15-man squad for the one-off Test against Bangladesh, with left-arm fast bowler Richard Ngarava set to captain the national side in Test cricket for the first time.

The match will begin on Sunday at Harare Sports Club, where Zimbabwe last played Test cricket, defeating Afghanistan by an innings and 73 runs in October last year.

Ngarava was one of the stars of that victory, claiming a five-wicket haul, while Ben Curran scored a century and Brad Evans also picked up five wickets.

Five players have earned recalls to the squad following strong domestic performances: Innocent Kaia, Graeme Cremer, Tadiwanashe Marumani, Wessly Madhevere and Newman Nyamhuri. However, Zimbabwe will be without experienced all-rounder Sikandar Raza, who has been granted permission to fulfil his commitments with Worcestershire in the 2026 Vitality Blast in England.

The upcoming fixture renews Zimbabwe's growing Test rivalry with Bangladesh. The two sides last met in a two-match series in Bangladesh last year, which ended 1-1. Zimbabwe claimed a memorable three-wicket victory in the opening Test, their first win in the format in four years, before Bangladesh bounced back to level the series.

Zimbabwe Squad: Richard Ngarava (captain), Brian Bennett, Tanaka Chivanga, Graeme Cremer, Ben Curran, Craig Ervine, Brad Evans, Innocent Kaia, Roy Kaia, Wessly Madhevere, Tadiwanashe Marumani, Blessing Muzarabani, Newman Nyamhuri, Brendan Taylor and Tafadzwa Tsiga.
