The ICC has found itself in further uncertainty over Pakistan following Bangladesh’s exclusion, with the participation of the former T20 World Cup champions now emerging as a major question. Pakistan is expected to clarify its position on the issue in the coming days.

To decide whether to take part in or boycott the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup, Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chairman Mohsin Naqvi held a meeting on Thursday with Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif.

Naqvi later confirmed on social media that the PCB will announce its final decision by next Monday.

Sharing a photo from the meeting on X, Naqvi wrote that the discussion with the prime minister was “productive.”

"Had a productive meeting with the Prime Minister Mian Muhammad Nawaz Sharif. Briefed him on the ICC matter, and he directed that we resolve it while keeping all options on the table. It was agreed that the final decision will be taken either on Friday or next Monday" he wrote.
