The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has ready to unveil the Pakistan national team’s jersey for the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026, even as it continues to weigh symbolic and strategic options to show solidarity with Bangladesh over the ongoing World Cup controversy.

According to a report by Samaa TV, the PCB is considering several forms of protest without withdrawing from the tournament. Discussions are underway on how Pakistan can convey a message of solidarity while remaining part of the competition.

PCB chairman Mohsin Naqvi has held consultations with board officials and former cricketers, including during a Pakistan Super League (PSL) workshop, where he reportedly expressed strong support for Bangladesh, saying the team had been placed in a “humiliating situation” and should not be left alone.

Sources say three options are currently under consideration: Pakistani players wearing black armbands during World Cup matches; a possible boycott of the February 15 match against India in protest against Indian conduct; and dedicating every Pakistan victory in the tournament to Bangladesh’s cricket supporters.

Sources added that the final decision regarding Pakistan’s stance will be taken by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif. A meeting between the prime minister and PCB chairman Mohsin Naqvi is scheduled, where the issue will be presented in detail.

Despite the ongoing deliberations, the PCB on the same day announced the official Pakistan team jersey for the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026, making it available for fans.

The move signals that Pakistan’s participation in the tournament remains on track while internal discussions continue over the form of protest to be adopted.
