Pakistan Under-19 produced a dominant all-round performance to clinch the Under-19s Asia Cup in emphatic fashion, thrashing India Under-19 by 191 runs in the final at ICCA Dubai on December 21.

After being put in to bat, Pakistan built a massive total of 347 for 8, anchored by a sensational innings from Sameer Minhas, who smashed 172 off 113 balls, laced with 17 fours and nine sixes.

Minhas took control after an early wicket, combining first with Usman Khan (35) and then with Ahmed Hussain (56) to lay a solid platform before accelerating brutally in the final overs.

Captain Farhan Yousaf (19) and late cameos from Niqab Shafiq (12*) and Mohammad Sayyam (13*) ensured Pakistan finished just shy of 350, a total that always looked beyond reach.

India’s bowlers struggled to contain the flow of runs, with Deepesh Devendran claiming three wickets but conceding 83, while Khilan Patel was the most economical, taking 2 for 44.

Chasing a daunting 348, India Under-19 never found momentum. Early strikes from Ali Raza rocked the chase as wickets fell in clusters.

Vaibhav Suryavanshi’s explosive 26 off 10 balls provided a brief spark, but it was quickly extinguished as Pakistan’s disciplined bowling strangled the middle order.

Ali Raza led the attack with an impressive 4 for 42, well supported by Abdul Subhan (2 for 29) and Mohammad Sayyam (2 for 38). India were eventually bowled out for 156 in 26.2 overs, succumbing to relentless pressure and smart fielding.

The comprehensive victory underlined Pakistan Under-19’s dominance throughout the tournament, with Sameer Minhas’ match-winning century in the final standing out as a performance for the ages and sealing a memorable Asia Cup title win.
