Atal has represented Afghanistan in 12 ODIs and 22 T20Is and brings experience from leagues such as the IPL, ILT20 and SA20.
Earlier, Noakhali signed Afghan all-rounder Mohammad Nabi, a seasoned BPL campaigner and recent title-winner with Fortune Barishal. The team has also secured Afghan pacer Bilal Sami and UAE fast bowler Ibrar Ahmed.
Ahead of the auction, Noakhali brought in Sri Lanka’s wicketkeeper-batter Kusal Mendis and West Indies opener Johnson Charles.
However, Mendis is expected to miss a few matches due to Pakistan’s T20I series against Sri Lanka in January. As cover, the franchise has signed Sri Lankan batter Avishka Fernando, who has previously played in the BPL for Chattogram Challengers.
Owned by Desh Travels, Noakhali Express will be coached by former Bangladesh captain Khaled Mahmud Sujan in their inaugural BPL season.
