Bangladesh fast bowler Hasan Mahmud is set to cut short his Lanka Premier League (LPL) campaign to join the national team's preparation camp ahead of next month's Test tour of Australia. A trusted source confirmed the development to Cricfrenzy.

Hasan, who is representing Colombo Kaps, recently made his first appearance in an overseas franchise league after also featuring in England's County Championship and T20 Blast.

The right-arm pacer has claimed five wickets in three matches in the ongoing LPL.

The 25-year-old missed Colombo's most recent fixture and is now expected to return to Bangladesh to begin preparations for the two-Test series against Australia.

Bangladesh are scheduled to travel in the first week of August and will play a warm-up match before the series. A short training camp in Mirpur has also been planned ahead of the tour.

Hasan is returning specifically to take part in that preparation camp.

Fellow pacer Taskin Ahmed also opted out of the LPL despite initially being signed by Jaffna Kings, choosing instead to focus on the Australia tour.
