According to national team physio Bayjedul Islam Khan, the left-handed batter picked up a right shoulder injury on April 3 while fielding in Pakistan. Initial assessments suggest the injury will require a short recovery period before he can return to full fitness.
“Following an assessment of Parvez Hossain Emon, who returned from Pakistan with a right shoulder injury sustained on April 3 during fielding, it appears to be an injury that may require approximately three weeks for recovery,” the physio confirmed.
Emon has already started a structured rehabilitation programme under the supervision of the Bangladesh Cricket Board medical and coaching staff. His recovery process will include rehabilitation and functional skill training, with close monitoring from the team’s support staff.
Despite the setback, there is optimism around his return timeline. “We are hopeful of his recovery in time for the upcoming T20 International series against New Zealand later this month,” Bayjedul added.
The update will come as a relief for Bangladesh, who are preparing for a white-ball series against New Zealand national cricket team, with Emon potentially in contention if his recovery progresses as expected.
