Emon has been ruled out of the tournament after suffering a shoulder injury during Lahore’s recent match against Multan Sultans.
The injury occurred following an on-field collision with Asif Ali, resulting in a ligament tear. He featured in three matches for the Qalandars in this year’s campaign.
Asalanka, a left-handed batter who can also contribute with off-spin, arrives with considerable international experience for Sri Lanka national cricket team across formats.
His addition is expected to strengthen Lahore’s middle order as the team approaches the crucial final phase of the tournament.
The Sri Lankan is set to join the squad ahead of Lahore Qalandars’ upcoming fixture against Quetta Gladiators on April 17.
