The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has reportedly taken strict action following Pakistan’s exit from the Super Eight stage of the ongoing ICC Men's T20 World Cup.

According to multiple media outlets, each player has been fined PKR 5 million over the team’s disappointing performance.

The penalty applies to senior stars as well, including captain Babar Azam, pace spearhead Shaheen Shah Afridi, and all-rounder Shadab Khan.

The board is said to be dissatisfied with the team’s inability to deliver on the big stage, prompting the tough stance.

Pakistan were placed in Group A alongside arch-rivals India, the Netherlands, Namibia and the United States. They advanced to the Super Eight with wins over the associate nations, but their performance in the second round proved underwhelming.

Failing to maintain their group-stage momentum, Pakistan were eventually eliminated from the tournament.

According to a report by The Express Tribune, the PCB’s decision was influenced by an internal assessment that players had previously been shown excessive leniency.

The board has reportedly made it clear that financial rewards will now depend strictly on performances, with players required to prove themselves to earn future incentives.
