The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) and the International Cricket Council (ICC) held a video conference on Tuesday to discuss Bangladesh’s participation in the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026.

BCB President Md Aminul Islam led the discussion, alongside Vice Presidents Md Shakawath Hossain and Faruque Ahmed, Director and Cricket Operations Committee Chairman Nazmul Abedeen, and Chief Executive Officer Nizam Uddin Chowdhury.

During the meeting, the BCB reiterated its decision not to travel to India for the tournament, citing security concerns. The Board also renewed its request for the ICC to consider relocating Bangladesh’s matches to venues outside India.

In response, the ICC noted that the tournament schedule has already been announced and urged the BCB to reconsider its position. However, the BCB maintained its stance, emphasizing the safety and well-being of its players, officials, and staff.

Both parties agreed to continue discussions in an effort to find a mutually acceptable solution.

The BCB affirmed its commitment to engaging constructively with the ICC while prioritizing security concerns surrounding the national team’s participation.
