Bangladesh’s T20 World Cup venue uncertainty continues, with the ICC yet to resolve the standoff with the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) ahead of the tournament.

The BCB has formally requested that all of Bangladesh’s matches be shifted from India to Sri Lanka, citing player security concerns amid political tensions between the two countries.

However, according to Cricbuzz, the ICC is unlikely to move the games to Sri Lanka and is instead considering alternative venues within India.

The report says, Tamil Nadu Cricket Association (TNCA) and Kerala Cricket Association (KCA) have been approached regarding the possibility of hosting Bangladesh’s matches in Chennai and Thiruvananthapuram.

Both associations have reportedly expressed willingness to host. Chennai’s Chepauk Stadium is already a World Cup venue and has the capacity to accommodate additional matches.

Under the current schedule, Bangladesh are set to play West Indies (Feb 7), Italy (Feb 9), and England (Feb 14) in Kolkata, followed by a match against Nepal in Mumbai on Feb 17.
