Chasing 179, Rajshahi reached the target in just 19.1 overs, powered by a dominant opening partnership between Mohammad Waseem and captain Nazmul Hossain Shanto, who batted at number three.
Rangpur struck early as Tanzid Hasan Tamim was dismissed for 13, but Waseem and Shanto then took complete control of the chase. The duo added a match-winning 142-run partnership, laying a solid foundation for victory.
Shanto was dismissed at 155, after playing a brilliant knock of 76 off 42 balls, which included six fours and four sixes.
Waseem, however, remained unbeaten and guided Rajshahi home. He scored an impressive 87 not out off 59 balls, hitting seven fours and four sixes, and ensured a comfortable finish for his side.
Akif Javed claimed both of Rajshahi’s wickets for Rangpur, conceding 43 runs in his four overs. Mustafizur Rahman picked up the other wicket, giving away 34 runs in his four-over spell. Shanto was named Player of the Match for his commanding innings.
Earlier, Rangpur put up a competitive total thanks to a stunning performance from Towhid Hridoy and a late flourish from Khushdil Shah. Hridoy remained unbeaten on 97 off 56 balls, smashing eight fours and six sixes, narrowly missing out on his second T20 century by just three runs.
Khushdil added quick runs at the death, scoring 44 off 29 balls with four fours and three sixes. Litton Das managed 11 runs, while Iftikhar Ahmed contributed eight, taking Rangpur’s total to 178.
For Rajshahi, Tanzim Hasan Sakib, Ripon Mondol, Jimmy Neesham, and Sandeep Lamichhane each picked up one wicket.
With this victory, Rajshahi Warriors moved up to second place on the points table with 10 points from seven matches. Rangpur, meanwhile, sit third with eight points from the same number of games.
