Speaking to reporters on Saturday, Bulbul explained that the delay is largely due to the weekend in Dubai, where the ICC headquarters is located. “Today and tomorrow (Saturday and Sunday) are holidays in Dubai. So we may hear something by Monday or Tuesday. I don’t know for sure—it depends entirely on them,” he said.
Regarding any progress on the issue, Bulbul made it clear that there has been none so far. “At this moment, there is no progress. After discussions with our government, we sent the ICC a detailed email last Wednesday afternoon outlining our security-related concerns, as they had requested. Since then, we have not received any update,” he added.
The BCB president confirmed that no final decision has yet been made on whether Bangladesh will travel to India. “We still don’t know if we will go. No decision has come yet. We have not received any response to our email. All required links, attachments, and information were provided. Now we are waiting to hear from the ICC,” Bulbul said.
When asked whether Bangladesh would consider playing matches if they were moved from Kolkata and Mumbai to other Indian venues, such as Chennai or Hyderabad, Bulbul dismissed the idea.
“Another venue in India is still India. Venue is not the issue. As you know, we are not taking this decision alone. This will be decided in consultation with the government. Our position remains unchanged,” he stated.
