While the ICC has yet to formally meet or take a decision on Sunday being a non-working day, Cricbuzz understands that the world body is not opposed to shifting Bangladesh’s fixtures to Sri Lanka, the co-host of the tournament.
Bangladesh are scheduled to play all four of their league matches in India, with three games in Kolkata and one in Mumbai.
A final decision on the matter is expected within the next one or two days.
BCB’s current position has been triggered by the Board of Control for Cricket in India’s (BCCI) decision to ask Kolkata Knight Riders to release pacer Mustafizur Rahman, referring to “recent developments” in the country.
The BCB then held an emergency meeting in Dhaka and passed a resolution stating that the Bangladesh national team will not travel to India for the tournament under the current circumstances.
