Bangladesh fast bowler Hasan Mahmud has earned a contract with Kent for the upcoming Vitality Blast after an impressive start to his County Championship campaign. Kent confirmed the signing in an official statement, with Hasan set to play three matches in the T20 competition.

Hasan became only the second Bangladeshi after Shakib Al Hasan to represent Kent in county cricket. He made an immediate impact on his debut against Lancashire, claiming nine wickets in the match, including a brilliant 6 for 69 in the second innings.

He followed that performance with three more wickets against Middlesex, taking his tally to 12 wickets in just two County Championship matches.

The right-arm pacer is currently on national duty with Bangladesh in Zimbabwe, but is expected to return to England later to complete four more county appearances. His strong red-ball performances have now earned him an opportunity in one of the world's leading domestic T20 competitions.

Speaking about the deal, Hasan said he had thoroughly enjoyed his time at Kent and did not hesitate when the chance to return for the Vitality Blast came.

"I've really enjoyed my time with Kent so far, and when the opportunity came to return and contribute in the Vitality Blast, I didn't think twice. We have three important matches ahead, and I'll give everything I have to help Kent qualify for the knockout stage."

He also thanked the club for their faith in him and described the Vitality Blast as a great platform to prove himself in white-ball cricket.

"I'm grateful to Kent for believing in me. Playing in one of the world's best T20 tournaments is a fantastic opportunity, and I hope strong performances here will also help me make a successful return to white-ball cricket for Bangladesh."

Subject to receiving a No Objection Certificate (NOC) from the Bangladesh Cricket Board, Hasan is scheduled to play against Hampshire Hawks on July 5, Surrey on July 10, and Middlesex on July 12. These matches will mark his first appearance in the Vitality Blast.
