In an official statement, the franchise said it had conducted an internal review into the matter and found that an isolated incident did take place, though it claimed the episode had been “overstated” and blown out of proportion in public discussion.
The PSL franchise said the fine was imposed as a voluntary and proactive disciplinary measure, underlining its intent to show accountability while maintaining team discipline.
Lahore Qalandars also said it has submitted a detailed response and its observations on the matter to the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB).
While the franchise acknowledged the seriousness of the issue, it insisted the incident stemmed from a misunderstanding rather than a deliberate violation of security procedures.
Lahore Qalandars also thanked the security staff involved, saying their role remains crucial in ensuring a safe environment for players, officials and spectators.
At the same time, the franchise expressed regret over the public attention the matter received, saying it had caused unnecessary damage to the image of both Lahore Qalandars and the Pakistan Super League (PSL).
