Stallionz, who were initially purchased in January, have now been taken over by a new investor and rebranded as Multan Sultans.
The Sultans had featured in last season’s competition, but a dispute between the Pakistan Cricket Board and owner Ali Khan Tareen led to the end of the franchise’s previous ownership cycle.
Before the takeover, Stallionz had appointed former Australia Test captain Tim Paine as their first head coach and secured the signing of Australia batter Steve Smith ahead of the auction.
At the player draft, the franchise also added Australian trio Josh Philippe, Ashton Turner and Peter Siddle, along with South Africa spinner Tabraiz Shamsi.
The 2026 PSL season is scheduled to begin on 26 March, although the full fixture list has yet to be announced.
