Currently working with the national setup, Ashraful said he has closely observed Nahid both in the Bangladesh camp and during his time with Rangpur Riders.
Speaking to the media today, he noted that having a 150 km/h bowler in the side creates fear among batters.
“As a batter, I always feel that if the opposition has a bowler who can hit 150 km/h, it becomes a real concern,” Ashraful said.
He added that Nahid’s continuous improvement and work ethic have been key to his rise.
“He is working hard every day and getting better. He bowled brilliantly in the recent ODI series and also performed well in the BPL,” he said.
Ashraful also pointed out that having such a fast bowler benefits Bangladesh’s own batters in training, as it helps them prepare better for high-pace bowling in matches.
Nahid was the standout performer in the recent Pakistan series, taking eight wickets and sharing the Player of the Series award.
His performances played a crucial role in Bangladesh’s 2–1 series win, which also lifted the team to ninth in the ICC ODI rankings.
