Bangladesh pace bowler Taskin Ahmed revealed that he is the architect of his own downfall as he failed to live up to his expectation due to taking everything for granted and indiscipline lifestyle.

In a Facebook live session arranged by veteran opener and Bangladesh ODI skipper Tamim Iqbal and joined by the veteran pacer Rubel Hossain, Taskin came up with the honest confession that he feels took a toll on his career.

‘’During the early stage of my career, I was in a performing good. Getting public attention wherever I was going as well as played the World Cup and everything was good,’’ said Taskin.

‘’I thought everything was happening naturally, never came in mind that I could play bad. In the first two years, I was very serious and from third year I started taking less care of me. Lifestyle became indiscipline.

‘’Then slowly my performance started falling down. I got injured. And then went out of the team. Then Mustafiz came in and we already Rubel and Mashrafee in the team.

Things were going well initially. But from the third year when I became less careful of my career I became irregular in the team. And consequently, in the last two years I just got into the ODI side three times and four-time in Test.

‘’But unfortunately, I couldn’t play a single match because the situation was like that. So I have to work harder definitely. From that period what I realized is, whoever becomes star performer in early-stage like me, should never compromise with hard work. I don’t know what’s going to happen tomorrow but I won’t stop working hard till I work hard and try to be disciplined,’’ he said.

‘’So whoever comes they should keep on hardworking and if possible they should add more variations in their playing style and improve their fitness and this was a lesson for me and I will be more serious from now,’’ he said, whose last outing for the national team was in a Tweny20 match against Sri Lanka at Nidahas trophy on March 10, 2018.
