Later in the evening, while speaking to the media at a local hotel event, BCB President Aminul Islam Bulbul revealed plans to introduce cricket in madrasas alongside schools and colleges.
“There are hundreds of thousands of students in madrasas. If even a few cricketers emerge from there, it will be a great achievement. We’re making arrangements to make that possible,” said Bulbul.
He also hinted at the format the tournament might follow.
“Details haven’t been finalized yet, but since we’ve made the plan, we’re determined to implement it. Initially, it will be in a short format,” he added.
According to sources, the madrasa cricket competition is likely to be played in a 10-over format, designed to take place between Asar and Maghrib prayers, allowing students to participate conveniently within their daily routine.
