Bangladesh wicketkeeper-batter Litton Das is unlikely to feature in the opening ODI against Zimbabwe on July 6 as he continues his recovery from a left calf injury, though the team remains optimistic about his availability for the remaining two matches of the series.

According to Bangladesh team physiotherapist Bayzedul Islam Khan, Litton sustained a Grade I strain to his left calf muscle, an injury that typically requires two to three weeks of rehabilitation. Having already completed two weeks of recovery, the batter is expected to regain full fitness by the end of the third week.

"Litton has a Grade I injury in his left calf muscle. Recovery from this type of injury generally takes between two and three weeks. Two weeks have already passed, and we expect him to be fully recovered by the end of the third week," Bayzedul said.

He added that Litton's chances of playing the first ODI are "almost nil," but the 30-year-old could return for the second and third ODIs on July 9 and 11 if he successfully clears the team's fitness assessments.

"The possibility of him playing in the first ODI is almost nil, but he should be able to play in the second and third ODIs if he can meet all the parameters of our fitness test."

Despite not being fully fit, Litton has travelled with Bangladesh's ODI squad to Zimbabwe, where the three-match series will begin after the ongoing one-off Test in Harare.

Litton last featured during Bangladesh's home ODI series against Australia in June before missing the subsequent T20I series, which the Tigers lost 3-0, as well as the one-off Test against Zimbabwe due to the same injury.
