Habibul Bashar has credited Nahid Rana’s devastating spell as the key factor behind Pakistan being bowled out for 114 in the opening ODI against Bangladesh on Wednesday.

Speaking to reporters on Thursday, the former Bangladesh captain said the collapse was more about Rana’s quality than the pitch conditions.

“Honestly, we did not expect Pakistan to be bowled out for such a low total. People often talk about the Mirpur wicket, but this time there is really nothing to say,” Bashar told the reporters.

Bashar said Rana’s burst completely shifted the momentum of the match.

“It was one of those days when a fast bowler produces a spell you rarely see. It was all about Nahid Rana. The other bowlers supported well, but his spell was outstanding.”

He also dismissed suggestions that Pakistan’s batting lineup is weak.

“Pakistan are not a weak team. They may have some new players, but they are good cricketers,” he said. “It was Nahid’s spell that really changed the course of the match.”
