Playing his first match at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium for Bangladesh, the express pacer delivered a career-best performance as Pakistan were bowled out for 114.
Rana said he relied on his strengths rather than focusing on the opposition batters. “I always try to start with my strengths. I did the same today and focused on what the wicket demanded rather than thinking about which batter I was facing,” he said.
Pakistan had started steadily at 41 without loss after nine overs, but Rana’s fiery seven-over spell triggered a collapse as the visitors slipped to 69 for five and never recovered.
Despite his match-winning performance, Rana played down suggestions that he could become Bangladesh’s next big brand.
“I don’t see myself as a brand. I consider myself a normal person and just try to keep delivering good performances,” he said.
The pacer also credited senior bowlers Taskin Ahmed and Mustafizur Rahman for their guidance, saying their support on the field helps him stay relaxed and confident.
