The side will be led by Mehidy Hasan Miraz.
Experienced batter Litton Das and all-rounder Afif Hossain have been recalled to the squad, while wicketkeeper-batter Jaker Ali and Nurul Hasan Sohan have been left out.
Three players from the squad that faced West Indies national cricket team last October, Nurul Hasan Sohan, Jaker Ali and Shamim Hossain have missed out this time.
Meanwhile, Bangladesh will be without two key pacers, Hasan Mahmud and Tanzim Hasan Sakib, who are sidelined due to injuries.
Alongside Litton and Afif, Shariful Islam and pace bowler Nahid Rana have been included in the squad.
Afif last played an ODI for Bangladesh in December 2024. Since making his debut in 2020, the left-hander has scored 667 runs in 34 ODIs. He recently impressed in the Bangladesh Cricket League, scoring 128 runs in three innings at an average of 64, including a century for South Zone.
“We have provided opportunities to several players in the middle order, but unfortunately some have not done enough to secure their places. With that in mind, Afif Hossain has been recalled. He brings valuable experience and is currently appears to be in fine touch. Mahidul Islam Bhuiyan has been retained and this is a good opportunity for him to fulfil the potential he has shown,” Chairman of National Selection Panel Gazi Ashraf Hossain said.
Litton, on the other hand, last featured in an ODI against Sri Lanka national cricket team in July last year. Although he has struggled for form in ODIs, he recently made a strong case for a comeback with a half-century in T20Is against Ireland national cricket team and a century and a half-century in Tests.
“There may be questions about Litton Das’s recent ODI form, but he has been working closely with the coaches on his game. We believe he can soon produce his best in this format and are considering him as an option to strengthen the middle order,” Lipu added.
The three-match ODI series between Bangladesh and Pakistan will begin on March 11 at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium, with the remaining matches scheduled for March 13 and March 15 at the same venue.
