Siddons, who previously served as head coach of the Bangladesh national cricket team from 2007 to 2011, brings extensive international coaching experience to the role.
A Level 3 qualified coach, he has also worked in domestic cricket in Australia and New Zealand.
During his coaching career, Siddons served as head coach of the South Australia Redbacks from 2015 to 2020, and earlier coached the Wellington Firebirds from 2011 to 2015.
His one-year contract will begin on March 16, 2026, with the primary task of preparing the Sri Lanka women’s side for the upcoming ICC Women's T20 World Cup, scheduled for June in England.
Siddons, who enjoyed a long first-class playing career in Australia and captained both the South Australia Redbacks and Victoria cricket team, will begin his tenure with Sri Lanka Women’s tour of Bangladesh, set to take place in April–May 2026.
