The BCB, however, maintains that no such ultimatum was communicated.
Neither the ICC, BCCI nor BCB has issued an official statement following Tuesday’s call, which was held after BCB wrote to the ICC on Sunday seeking a review of venues.
BCB’s approach to the ICC was prompted by the BCCI’s instruction to IPL franchise Kolkata Knight Riders to release Bangladesh pacer Mustafizur Rahman, the only Bangladeshi player bought at the 2026 IPL auction for INR 9.2 crore.
The development comes less than a month before the 20-team tournament begins on February 7 in India and Sri Lanka.
Bangladesh are placed in Group C and are scheduled to play three matches in Kolkata before facing Nepal in Mumbai.
