In response, the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has formally written to the ICC.
It is understood that the ICC has begun working on a revised schedule. Meanwhile, Mustafizur remains focused on the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL).
His franchise, Rangpur Riders, had initial concerns over how the left-arm pacer would handle the situation, but team director Shahnian Tanim confirmed that the bowler is coping well.
“We were worried at first about how Mustafizur would react, but I think he has nerves of steel. He is very professional and understands that ups and downs are part of life,” Tanim told the media.
Rangpur Riders are enjoying an impressive campaign in this year’s BPL, with Mustafizur playing a key role. He has taken nine wickets in five matches, helping Rangpur win four of their five games so far to sit at the top of the points table. However, the team is not thinking about the title just yet.
“It’s not the right time to think about the championship. First, we need to qualify for the top four, then aim to finish in the top two, and after that focus on making the final. It’s all about the process.” Tanim said.
He added that Rangpur Riders are always built to win titles, but stressed that staying focused on the process remains the priority for now.
