The franchise confirmed Shakib's signing through its official social media accounts, welcoming the former Bangladesh captain to the team.
"From the global stage to the hills of Pokhara. One of cricket's greatest all-rounders is now a member of the Pokhara Avengers family for the third edition of the Nepal Premier League. Welcome, Shakib Al Hasan," the franchise posted on Facebook.
Shakib is currently in action for Jaffna Kings in the Lanka Premier League, where he has impressed with the ball.
Pokhara have also strengthened their coaching staff ahead of the new season by appointing former Sri Lanka mystery spinner Ajantha Mendis as head coach. Mendis was part of Sri Lanka's ICC Men's T20 World Cup-winning squad in 2014.
The third edition of the Nepal Premier League will run from November 17 to December 13, with all matches scheduled to be played at the Tribhuvan University International Cricket Ground in Kirtipur.
