The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has issued a strong warning to Dhaka Capitals over more than Tk3 crore in unpaid player payments from the previous Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) season, with the franchise now facing the prospect of board action.

Speaking to reporters at Bashundhara Sports City on Saturday, BCB director Iftekhar Rahman Mithu said the board had exhausted its patience after repeatedly asking the franchise to clear the outstanding dues.

“We have written to them several times, including a formal notice on February 27, where they were given 15 days to submit the players’ accounts. The other teams responded and completed their payments, but Dhaka Capitals still have not complied.” Mithu said.

According to Mithu, the franchise had given assurances ahead of Eid-ul-Fitr, but after directly checking with the players, the board found that more than Tk3 crore is still unpaid.

“More than 60 days have passed now, and there is only so long we can wait. If they do not settle the payments by today or tomorrow, then we will have to move in another direction” he said.
