The defending champions confirmed the move via social media, announcing a deal worth PKR 6.44 crore (over BDT 28.1 million). Mustafizur previously represented Lahore during the 2017–18 season, making his return to familiar territory.
Qalandars owner Sameen Rana hailed the signing as a major boost, recalling the franchise’s long-standing interest in the pacer.
He also expressed excitement at the prospect of Mustafizur forming a left-arm pace partnership with Shaheen Shah Afridi, particularly during the middle overs.
“We identified the areas where we needed reinforcement, and Mustafizur was extremely important for us in that context,” Rana said. “Based on recent performances, I’m really excited to see Shaheen Afridi and Mustafizur bowling together in the middle overs.”
Praising Mustafizur’s current form, Rana added that the franchise considers itself fortunate to secure a bowler of his calibre, calling his signing a major boost ahead of the new PSL season.
