Bangladesh leg-spinner Rishad Hossain has emerged as a crucial figure for Hobart Hurricanes as the Big Bash League (BBL) 2025–26 heads into its finals phase, with the tournament schedule now officially confirmed.

The BBL finals will get underway on Tuesday, January 20, with The Qualifier featuring Perth Scorchers, who finished top of the table, taking on Sydney Sixers, the second-placed side, at Optus Stadium.

The Hurricanes finished inside the top four to book a place in the finals and will face Melbourne Stars in The Knockout on Wednesday, January 21, at Ninja Stadium.

A win there would keep Hobart’s title hopes alive and set up a Challenger clash against the loser of the Qualifier.

Rishad’s impact with the ball has been one of the standout stories of Hobart’s campaign. The Bangladeshi spinner picked up 13 wickets in the league stage, bowling 204 balls (34 overs) across nine innings.

With Hobart set to play high-pressure knockout match, Rishad’s role will be vital against strong batting line-ups. His consistency and control have added balance to the Hurricanes’ bowling attack, making him one of their most reliable options as the race for the BBL title intensifies.
