The Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) Governing Council has announced a full refund for tickets purchased for the two matches scheduled on 15 January, which were abandoned due to unforeseen circumstances.

Both matches failed to take place despite thousands of spectators arriving at the stadium, with many more waiting outside the gates and following the developments on television. The situation led to frustration among fans, and incidents of vandalism were reported outside the venue.

In an official statement, the BPL Governing Council said that spectators who bought tickets for the 15 January 2026 matches can claim refunds by logging into the GOBCBTICKET.COM.BD platform.

Refund requests must be submitted through the “My Ticket” section under the “Report Issue” option. The council also clarified that tickets purchased for 15 January will not be valid for any matches scheduled on 16 January.

BPL chairman Iftekhar Rahman Mithu apologised to supporters for the inconvenience, stating that fans are central to the game and confirming that refunds were being processed immediately.

Cricketers’ Welfare Association of Bangladesh (CWAB) president Mohammad Mithun also expressed regret on behalf of the players, apologising to fans and acknowledging their vital role in cricket.
