Rajshahi Warriors were scheduled to face Sylhet Titans at 6:00 pm at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Mirpur, but the match did not take place.
Earlier in the day, the afternoon fixture between Noakhali Express and Chattogram Royals was also abandoned for the same reason.
The boycott stems from controversial remarks made by BCB director M Najmul Islam, following which cricketers issued an ultimatum demanding his resignation.
Although Najmul was removed from his role as head of the BCB finance committee earlier on Thursday, players have made it clear that they will not return to the field unless he steps down from his position as a board director.
At a press conference in the afternoon, the players said they would play the evening match if the BCB provided assurance that Najmul would be removed as a director. However, even by around 5:30 pm, players from both teams had not arrived at the venue.
Facing continued boycott, the BCB is now understood to be considering the suspension of the BPL
However, It has been learned that BCB directors are scheduled to meet with CWAB at 8:00 pm. A final decision regarding the continuation of the BPL is expected after that meeting.
