England star Adam Rossington has been ruled out of the ongoing Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) with a finger injury. The development was confirmed to Cricfrenzy by Chattogram Royals team manager Nafees Iqbal.

Rossington is currently the highest run-scorer in the ongoing BPL, having scored 258 runs in six matches for Chattogram Royals at an impressive average of 64.50, including three half-centuries.

Rossington, who was in excellent form with the bat, sustained a finger injury during the match against Rajshahi Warriors. With no immediate chance of recovery, he has been forced to withdraw from the remainder of the tournament.

Chattogram Royals now face a major setback following the English batter’s exit, as his opening partnership with Naim Sheikh had begun to flourish. The franchise is actively looking for a replacement, although no name has been confirmed yet.

Speaking about the injury, Chattogram Royals team manager Nafees said, “Rossington has picked up an injury. Because of this, he won’t be able to play in the remaining part of the BPL. He will return home tomorrow. We are considering options for his replacement.”

With the Sylhet leg of the tournament now complete, Chattogram Royals have returned to Dhaka and are scheduled to resume training at Mirpur from January 11.
