Despite sharing over a decade together in international cricket, the two have never been teammates in the DPL. That will change this season as they aim to guide Rupganj to their maiden title.
Rupganj are yet to win the league, with runner-up finishes in 2018–19 and 2021–22 being their best results. Litton and Miraz now hope to end that wait.
Speaking after joining the club, Miraz said, “Obviously, the goal is to become champions. The team has done well, and if we can maintain good bonding and play together, we can definitely win the title.”
Litton also echoed the ambition but prioritised national duty. “As senior players, we will try our best. But our first priority is the national team. Whenever we get the chance, we will try to contribute to the club,” he said.
Due to international commitments, neither player is expected to play the full season, with both likely to feature in a maximum of four matches. As a result, Rupganj will appoint a different captain.
Club owner Lutfur Rahman Badal said the decision is yet to be finalised.
“We haven’t decided on the captain yet. Both Litton and Miraz are captains, so they will decide. If they are unavailable, we have other national players like Nasum Ahmed, Sheikh Mehedi Hasan and Shoriful Islam who can take up the role,” he said.
