Malaysia pacer Arif Ullah made early use of the conditions, removing three of Bangladesh’s top-order batters as the hosts slipped to 100 for five. Jawad Abrar was dismissed for 5, while Iqbal Hossain and Rizan Hossain fell for ducks.
Captain Kalam Siddiqui Alin and Shahriar Sakib briefly steadied the innings with a 40-run stand, but Bangladesh were still in trouble before Mohammad Abdullah and Ahrar Amin produced a crucial century partnership.
Ahrar scored 61 off 62 balls, including five sixes and four fours, while Abdullah narrowly missed a century, making 94 off 100 balls with seven fours and four sixes.
Late hitting from Sheikh Parvez Jibon, who struck 35 off 18 balls, helped Bangladesh reach 290 for nine. Arif was Malaysia’s standout bowler with four wickets.
Malaysia never threatened the target in reply, losing wickets at regular intervals. Ahmad Zubaidi top-scored with 42, while Saifullah and Syed Junaid Khan made 21 each.
Jibon then completed a brilliant all-round performance, claiming five wickets for just 16 runs in 7.5 overs. Maruf Mridha and Shadhin Islam took two wickets apiece as Malaysia were bowled out well short of the target.
Bangladesh now lead the three-match series 1-0.
