The lack of experience has raised questions about how long Bangladesh can compete against a strong Australian side.
Those concerns were heightened by their preparation match against a Cricket Australia XI, where they were bowled out for just 54 in the second innings.
That has raised questions about how Bangladesh's batters will cope with Australia's formidable pace attack of Mitchell Starc, Pat Cummins and Josh Hazlewood.
But Bangladesh captain Najmul Hossain Shanto remains focused on competing for the full five days rather than worrying about how quickly the match might finish.
“As players, we want to play cricket for five days. We want to play good cricket for five days and take it session by session, as we normally say. Every session will be important. There will always be discussions about whether the game will finish in five, four or three days, but as players our focus will always be on how well we can play here,” Shanto said in the press conference.
Australia's status as one of the world's best Test teams but according to Shanto Bangladesh don't need little extra motivation for that.
“Australia are obviously the number one team, especially in this format, and they have been performing well for many years. The challenge will be much bigger, but I don't think anyone needs extra motivation. Playing against Australia is a huge opportunity for every player.”
Shanto said the players understand that a strong individual or team performance could have a lasting impact on Bangladesh cricket.
“Everyone knows that scoring a big hundred, taking five wickets or doing well as a team will be very good for ourselves and for the future of the team. That motivation is already working for everyone, and from what I can see, everyone is confident about doing well” he added.
