Speaking in parliament on Sunday, State Minister for Youth and Sports Aminul Haque said the programme will initially begin with seven sporting disciplines, with more to be introduced gradually in the future.
The initiative is aimed at reducing children’s growing dependence on digital devices and encouraging them to spend more time in physical activity and outdoor play.
The minister also said regular involvement in sports could help build a healthier and drug-free society by keeping young people engaged in positive activities.
To support the plan, the government intends to develop playgrounds in all 495 upazilas, ensuring students across the country have access to proper sports facilities.
