The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has arranged an emergency discussion call at 9:30pm tonight to address the issue surrounding Mustafizur Rahman’s exclusion from the Indian Premier League (IPL).

BCB President Aminul Islam Bulbul said that calling an immediate board meeting was not possible, prompting the board to organise a discussion call to better understand the situation. He added that the board’s primary concern remains the safety and security of Bangladeshi cricketers.

“Our media chairman has already stated that the safety of our players is the most important issue. Since we have a discussion call scheduled, we hope to gather more information from the relevant departments,” Bulbul said.

Former national captain Bulbul also confirmed that the board is closely monitoring the developments surrounding Mustafizur’s removal from the IPL squad.

The development follows the BCCI's instruction to Kolkata Knight Riders to release Mustafizur Rahman, citing non-cricketing reasons, a decision that has triggered widespread discussion and concern within Bangladesh cricket circles.
