AB de Villiers ruled out of PSL

AB de Villiers has been ruled out of the ongoing Pakistan Super League (PSL) season four due to an injury to his back. AB will not travel in Pakistan for the second phase of PSL matches with his franchise Lahore Qalandars and had gone back home from UAE, though he had signed up for seven games of the UAE and two for Pakistan.
Lahore Qalandars manager Sameen Rana, officially informed that and stated: “It’s disappointing news for Lahore Qalandars management and its fans that AB de Villiers will not be able to make it for Pakistan’s leg of PSL. Any update on a replacement, if any, will be communicated in due course.”

Confirming news AB de Villiers said in a press statement: “I am very disappointed that I will not be able to play in front of the passionate Pakistani cricket fans. I saw my doctor who has advised complete rest for two weeks and, unfortunately, that rules me out of the games in Karachi. I hope to be a part of the PSL next year and very much hope to play my part in the return of international cricket to the country. I am backing Lahore Qalandars to go all the way and win the trophy this year.”
Earlier, De Villiers had said that he will play two matches in Lahore for Lahore Qalandars on March 9 and 10 for helping the international cricket return to Pakistan.
Meanwhile, The UAE phase of PSL will end on March 5 while the rest of the group matches and the qualifiers and finals will take place in Pakistan from March 9.
