‘Rangpur Riders–BSJA Media Cup Cricket 2025’ is powered by Ace Properties, with Nabil Group, Acme and Ispahani serving as co-sponsors.
The official press conference for the tournament was held on Sunday, confirming all preparations ahead of the much-anticipated competition, which involved sports journalists from across the country.
As in previous editions, the tournament will feature participation from 32 well-established and reputed media houses across the country.
The press conference took place at the auditorium of the Bangladesh Olympic Association building. Attending the event were Rangpur Riders’ Global Super League-winning captain Nurul Hasan Sohan, Head of Operations Tasvir Ul Islam, Star News CEO and BCB Media Committee Chairman Md Moksedul Kamal, and Lieutenant Colonel (retd) Engineer Md Ali Reza of Acme Consumer Products Limited.
Also present on the dais were BSJA President Arifur Rahman Babu, General Secretary SM Suman and tournament committee convener Raihan Al Mughni.
In his welcome address, Raihan provided a detailed overview of the tournament format. The official unveiling of the tournament jersey followed this. Later, the draw and groupings were completed by BSJA Joint General Secretary Arafat Zobayer.
Speaking at the event, Sohan said, “I think this is a very good initiative. The more cricket you play, the happier you feel at heart. I hope we will see more such initiatives in the future, In Sha Allah.”
BSJA President Arifur Rahman Babu said, “Sports journalists eagerly wait for the BSJA-organised cricket tournament, and that wait is now over. We are grateful to all our sponsor organisations. Without their support and cooperation, this tournament would not have been possible.”
