Bangladesh are scheduled to play six white-ball games against New Zealand in April, and their participation in the IPL may therefore be limited.
The Bangladesh Cricket Board, however, has indicated a flexible stance. BCB cricket operations chairman Nazmul Abedin said to Cricbuzz that the board would issue NOCs for most of the IPL window, recalling players only for the minimum required period for the New Zealand white-ball series.
"We will give them NOC for most of IPL because we want them to play as much as possible so we will bring them for minimum requirement (for the white-ball series against New Zealand)," Nazmul Abedin said.
Seven Bangladesh cricketers feature in the auction register, with base prices ranging from Rs 30 lakh to Rs 2 crore. Among them, only Mustafizur Rahman is widely seen as a strong contender for selection.
Even then, national duty could limit his involvement, meaning he may join the tournament later as a replacement, similar to last season.
The Bangladesh players in the final auction list are Mustafizur Rahman (Rs 2 crore), Rishad Hossain (Rs 75 lakh), Taskin Ahmed (Rs 75 lakh), Tanzim Hasan Sakib (Rs 75 lakh), Nahid Rana (Rs 75 lakh), Md Shoriful Islam (Rs 75 lakh) and Rakibul Hasan (Rs 30 lakh).
The BCCI is expected to update franchises on overseas players’ availability during the pre-auction meeting at the W Hotel in Abu Dhabi on Monday (December 15).
