BCB President Faruque Ahmed lauded Mushfiqur’s commitment and resilience, stating, "Mushfiqur Rahim’s dedication, determination, and relentless spirit will serve as an inspiration for future generations. His name will always shine among Bangladesh’s greatest ODI moments. Playing at the highest level for 19 years is an extraordinary achievement that reflects his consistency and character."
Faruque also expressed confidence that Mushfiqur still has much to offer to cricket, both on and off the field, and that he looks forward to seeing him set new benchmarks in the game.

Earlier, Mushfiqur took the field for Mohammedan Sporting Club in their Dhaka Premier League match against Rupganj Tigers.

After winning the toss, Mohammedan opted to field first. As Mushfiqur walked onto the field with his pads and gloves on, his teammates honored him with a guard of honor.
The Mohammedan players lined up in two rows, allowing the veteran wicketkeeper-batsman to make his way onto the field. Among them were several of his national team colleagues, making the moment even more special.
Mushfiqur holds the record for playing the most ODIs (274) for Bangladesh. With 7,795 runs, he is the second-highest run-scorer in the format for the country.
Behind the stumps, he has taken 243 catches and made 56 stumpings, making him Bangladesh’s most successful wicketkeeper in ODI history.
