This confirmation has come from Shahriar Nafees, the Cricket Operations In-charge. Initially, Bangladesh was scheduled to play three T20I matches and two Tests against Zimbabwe in 2024. However, due to the upcoming T20 World Cup, Bangladesh extended the T20I series to five matches.

To complete the remaining two Tests, Zimbabwe will visit Bangladesh. Test cricket holds significant importance for Bangladesh, and they do not want to miss the opportunity to play these two Test matches.

Nafees has expressed that, if everything goes according to plan, one Test will be held in Dhaka and the other will likely be played in Chittagong or Sylhet.

The BCB Grounds Committee has been consulted regarding the venue selection, and once they give their confirmation, the full schedule will be announced, said BCB official Nafees Iqbal.

"We will soon inform the media about the venue and exact dates. Since it is a two-match Test series, one game will definitely be played outside Dhaka, as DPL matches will keep the Dhaka venues occupied. We have sought advice from the Grounds Department, and once we get their recommendations, we will finalize everything," said Nafees.

Following the Zimbabwe series, Bangladesh is set to face Sri Lanka, India, and Pakistan, making these Tests a crucial preparation phase.

The last time Zimbabwe toured Bangladesh, they suffered a 4-1 defeat in the limited-overs series. However, this time, they might be eager to settle scores in the longer format.
