The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has finalized the schedule for domestic cricket for the next three years, till 2023. According to the schedule, there is no window for Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) this year. The BCB has not been able to return domestic cricket even though it has returned to short-term cricket like the BCB President's Cup and Bangabandhu T20 Cup amid the corona pandemic.
According to that schedule, there will be four National Cricket League (NCL), two Bangladesh Premier League (BPL), two Dhaka Premier League (DPL) and two Bangladesh Cricket League (BCL) will be held in the next 3 years.
In the meantime, the postponed DPL season of last year will be resumed from March 22. Although it started in March last year, the BCB was forced to postpone it after playing only one round due to Corona. The next two editions of the DPL will start in April every year.
After that, the 23rd, 24th and 25th editions of NCL will be held from 15th October to 25th November every year. BCL will be played in December every year after NCL.
As there is no empty window due to the international schedule, the eighth edition of BPL will be held in January 2022, it will start on January 14 next year. The ninth edition of the 2023 franchise-based tournament will be held on January 3.
