Soumya, Jaker return as Bangladesh name squad for first Australia Test

The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has announced a 15-member squad for the opening Test of next month's two-match series against Australia, with Soumya Sarkar and Jaker Ali Anik earning recalls.

The squad, announced on Sunday, will be led by Najmul Hossain Shanto, while all-rounder Mehidy Hasan Miraz continues as vice-captain.

Bangladesh will depart for Australia on July 31 ahead of the series, with the first Test scheduled to begin on August 13 at Marrara Cricket Ground in Darwin.

Before the series opener, the Tigers will play a three-day warm-up match against a Cricket Australia XI from August 6-8 at DXC Arena in Darwin.

The experienced duo of Mushfiqur Rahim and Mominul Haque have retained their places, while the pace attack features Taskin Ahmed, Hasan Mahmud, Khaled Ahmed and Ebadot Hossain Chowdhury.

The second and final Test of the series will be played at the Great Barrier Reef Arena in Mackay, starting on August 21.
